CALL FOR ORIGINAL SCRIPTS!
Keeping the art of audio drama alive is a major goal of
WSCA-LP Audio Theatre!

with Dialog Director
 Melanie Maxham

In connection with the above goal,
WSCA-LP Audio Theatre plans to work toward the establishment of
our very own "Radio Theatre Players" and  produce original audio theatre programming...
recorded at first,  and then move toward LIVE performances before an audience!

But an audio theatre production is nothing without the script!  So, though we will have a
few actual radio scripts available to us from the public domain, we would like to use the creative talents of the Portsmouth community to produce our own original work!

If you are interested in participating, please
e-mail me with your contact information and a note describing with what aspect of the Portsmouth Community Radio Theatre Players you wish to participate.

As much as possible, auditions, rehearsal and performance times will all be scheduled on weekends
or in the early evenings for your convenience.

One of the goals of WSCA-LP Audio Theatre is to preserve the culture and history of audio drama, so please, if you have any interest whatsoever in participating, do follow-up and send along your information.

NOW CHECK OUT OUR CALL FOR ORIGINAL SCRIPTS INFORMATION BELOW.
WITHOUT SCRIPTS, WE HAVE NO SHOWS.  THERE ARE SEVERAL PUBLIC DOMAIN SCRIPTS
AVAILABLE, BUT OUR ULTIMATE GOAL IS TO DO ORIGINAL SCRIPTS.. SO IF YOU ARE A WANNA-BE WRITER OR AN ESTABLISHED WRITER,  START WRITING AND SEND US A SCRIPT

Any genre of original script is welcome...comedy, mystery, satire, sci-fi, drama, horror, fairy tales, variety...
generally three to eight characters... any story set in the Seacoast area would be welcome.
Adaptations of short stories is a good starting point...think how the story would come across
in audio form... good possibilities for sound effects?

This is new for all of us... and a learning process to
be sure, but I can guarantee we will have a lot of fun and meet some interesting and creative
people and gain a whole new level of respect for those who worked in audio theatre day in
and day out throughout the "Golden Years of Radio"
